72caddy
When running and looking into the radiator I don't really see any water flow. It seems stagnant but does heat up after some time. Pump/distributor shaft is spinning, no leaks at the gland nuts.Is there any way to check for the impeller spinning short of pulling the pump off the car? Maybe run a hose from the head into an elevated bucket(higher than radiator fluid level) and hit the starter button a few times. That's my only idea at the moment. Any passeges to check? Other ideas? Thanks in advance,Richard
cahartley
It's hard enough to tell where the coolant level IS much less see if it's circulating.Adding a Motometer is a worthwhile addition if you worry about overheating.
Spinneyhill
You won't see much movement before the thermostat opens.

72caddy
I keep a motometer on it and it rarely gets to the 'High' mark, except on 100 degree days. Sounds like I should worry more about all the sediment in my gas tank first and get that sealed and stop thinking about this for a while. Thanks to all that replied. I was about to remove it and dig in... Richard
