Headlights dim

If you still have the original "Guide" brand headlamps from the factory, these are lower wattage than contemporary replacements. I believe they were 35w, current halogens are 50-55w low beams. I'd suggest Sylvania silverstars for an improved halogen lamp. They have shortr service life rating but do well for light output and coverage pattern.

Mods, might want to move this from the sale/wanted forum to general Reatta discussion.

You could also have another problem.

If the connector on the back of the headlight has been installed incorrectly, everytime the headlights open it flexes the wires and the strands begin to break.  This reduces the amount of (don't know if it is actually current, voltage, whatever) that get to the bulb.    Some owners have had them go out completely after all the wires broke.

Attached is a photo of the correct routing of the cable going to the bulb.   The wire goes over the casting and down between the fender and casting.  If your wire drops down directly behing the bulb,  you should change it before it fails.
