Guest Magoo
This silent newsreel from December of 1927 presents a huge moment in Ford Motor Company history: Henry and Edsel Ford introduce the all-new 1928 Model A. Here are some priceless glimpses of the cars, the engineering laboratory, and Henry and Edsel in action. This is just me, but I feel that seeing people walking, talking, and interacting helps us to know them a little better. John_S_in_Penna
Thanks for sharing the movie clip, Mr. Magoo! Interesting.I believe the music that accompanies that film today would have been added in modern times. There was no sound whatsoever with the film. From what I understand of history, to 1927 theater-goerslooking at that newsreel, the music would have been supplied LIVE by an organ in the theater. (Can any history buffs verify that or tell more?) Edited February 27, 2015 by John_S_in_Penna (see edit history)
MochetVelo
"The Jazz Singer", the first major release with synchronized dialogue, also premiered in 1927. That pretty much killed the silent films. Most theaters still had an organ, piano or orchestra to accompany such films as this, but not for long. I try to use music that is appropriate to the subject.
Guest Magoo
Looks like they liked the photo ops.Indeed. It has been noted that HF I had an eye for the camera and was quick to strike a pose when he saw one pointed his way. Edsel was more casual about it, it seems.
