MochetVelo
Were the 1904-1911(?) 2-cylinder Maxwell Tourabout/roadster cylinder heads interchangeable? Thanks,Phil
Seldenguy
Phil, Maxwell did make the two cylinder in the fall of 1904 but these are all construed to be of the model year 1905, the same way of dating as the automotive industry uses today. However the out side appearance of the '05s was a little different than the '06 and up. The '05 used a round barrel at the base whereas '06 and up used a hex barrel at the bottom of the cylinder casting. These cylinders and up are interchangeable. If your speaking of the 4" bore and the 4 1/2 "bore they are also interchangeable on the crankcase.--Bob

MochetVelo
Someone in the Maxwell group has patterns and is getting some new 4.5" cylinders made, though hasn't come up with a price yet. The guess is $250-350 each, in case anyone is interested. I'm wondering if this would be a good investment for the Maxwell owner?Phil
JO BO
Hi; I have a few original 05's but am unsure of condition. Were you actually looking for some or have some already and are asking if they interchange. What year Maxwell do you have? JO BO
