I believe its either a Series 58 or 80. Is there anyway to find out from a frame number? Also where would said frame number be? Also Im in need a driver door. The serial number for the car may be stamped on the outside of the frame somewhere over the driver's side rear wheel. The 58 was one of the smaller models, a 4 cylinder car that was replaced by Plymouth in 1928. The 80 was the Imperial, a big luxury car in the Cadillac class. I would like to use original motor but need a few parts (cylinder head, distributor, starter, trans. to make this possible.I have the front and rear fenders, also the motor. no trans.I need a passenger side door, on front. I also need a rear suspension. something that would work with this frame/chassis. McCargar Posted December 16, 2012 Share Posted December 16, 2012 I am just about finished restoring a 1928 model 52 and have acquired several extra doors.(9 in all 7 front and 2 rear) I believe they should fit '26 through '28 4 dr sedan. Would you be willing to part out the door handles/assembly on the others? also where do you live and would you accept pay pal/ebay purchases?I am in need of 1 passenger side front door, and 1 passenger side rear door.Also, could you send me pictures? It cost me 100 and change to ship them to southern Alberta. Its shipping by weight. If the doors weigh under 100lb. I would presume the shipping would cost under $100.00. also, a perk of shipping greyhound is the shipper doesn't have to pay. The receiver, being me. would pay on pickup. No risk involved. It looks as though there is a letter behind the Chrysler Badge but cant make it out. I would presume it would be an A seeing as all the triple letters/numbers above and below represent the middle letters/numbers.So cool. didn't even know it was a fedco plate until I seen Fedco stamped into the bottom of it. It looks as though the middle hinges are below the first raised "pin strip" on the doors on the 26 "58".And the 28 "52" middle hinges are on the raised "pin strip" on the front and slightly above on the rear.I want to know if these doors are compatable with 26-28 Sedans because of the hinge placement differences.p.s. Thanks for your help in advance.Now that I have read this intro again, I was thinking...mmmmm....I had a 1926 Chrysler '58' four door sedan that was blue with black fenders and a 1929 Franklin 135 series sport sedan when I was a kid. The Chrysler's top was off and needed the woodwork in the driver's side doors. Both cars were apparently sold to someone from Texas. I saw the Franklin in San Diego later. keiser31 Posted December 25, 2012 Share Posted December 25, 2012 The 1926 Chrysler I owned was restored by Mason Chrysler/Plymouth in Royal Oak, Michigan. It had sat outside and got covered with snow for a few years in a row. That is the reason the top was ruined. I was walking by a glass shop when I was a kid and as I peered in, I could see an old car shape. It was a blue and black Chrysler. I bought it for $200.00 and took it home. Drove it for a while with the driver's side doors removed. They needed wood replacement. I remember it had REALLY stiff steering and darn near took two men and a boy to steer it. Mine is what is called a 'Double drop straight frame' where the rear of rear spring hangers curl around under frame, compared to the 'rigid-x double droop frame'. Hope these pics help.
