Guest Steve_Heald
A fellow at work brought this family photo in hoping I could identify the automobile. I have a couple of ideas, but I'm not sure. Does anyone have any thoughts on what it could be?Thanks,-Steve.
West Peterson
My guess would be a 1907 Mitchell.
Lozierman
Steve,I think it is a 1906 or 1907 Stevens-Duryea Model U. It is the big 6. Check out page 1400 of the "Standard Catalog of American Cars 1805-1972.Nice car!
Leif Holmberg
I agree with you Steve,to me it also looks like a Stevens-Dureyea 1906-1907.Head lights on the car is the same as in the book on 1905 Stevens-Duryea,but the radiator shape in 1905 is different. The radiator shape on 1906 and 1907 in the book seems to be the same as on the picture. Leif in Sweden.
West Peterson
I'll concede S-D as well, but my Standard Catalog page number is much different.

1937hd45
Thanks guys! My computer used to be able to correct photos but it is so old & slow it freezes and I have to reboot the thing if I try any photo corrections. The Stevens photo is on a postcard, I'll buy just about any brass era postcard with a dog in an oldcar
Guest Steve_Heald
Thanks everyone for the answer. It looks like my co-worker's family was fortunate enough to have owned a Stevens-Duryea. Members of the forum come through again!
