Dave@Moon
I was originally going to post this in the British forum because of the interest in the Jaguar D-Type used, but it should be seen by any racing enthusiast. For those of you who don't know it's history, the 1955 race was a terrible tragedy that nearly ended motor racing in Europe, so Hawthorne's description is largely limited to the safety improvements on the course (still entirely a public road course). One of the improvements apparently not made was to eliminate public traffic while cars practiced at speed! In this one lap of practice/demonstration you see 4 or 5 serious situations that'd retire Michael Schumacher that day. These were men! This is not a video for the faint hearted.

michel88
Really enjoyed the video. Love the sound of the Jaguar engine winding out in the gears. It reminded me of the sound of my '67 Austin Healey 3000. Thanks for posting it.
