GM Heritage Center Tour March 17,2007 invitation

BUICK RACER

Recommended Posts

The Michigan Buick Performance Club, aka Michigan Chapter Buick Gran Sport Club of America is inviting you to join us on Saturday, March 17th, 2007 to tour the GM Heritage Center in Sterling Heights, MI, at this time we are only looking for how many of you would be interested, numbers only. There is a $2500 fee to tour on Saturday, so we are looking at $20 per person if we can get 125 folks to commit. Or could be less if we get more than 125. We will also plan a luncheon afterward but that would be seperate from the tour, more on that to come. So to get this together, please me know if you are interested, by 12/15/2006 so we can lock this date in with the Heritage Center and get an admission price appropriate. Thanks Roberta

I have been there twice, and will go again! GM has a policy of changing about 20 of the cars on display every week, and they have an almost endless supply of really great vehicles to choose from. It is not open to the public, so if you haven't been there , this is an opportunity that may not present itself again for some time.

Good idea Roberta, wish I could be there.

I do have a idea/suggestion. Any way you and the Flint club could arrange for the Heritage Center to be available for tours the week of the 2008 national meet? It could be Tuesday or Wednesday before the meet starts. Those of us that live thousands of miles away can only stop when we are in the vicinity.

Barney, the Heritage Center already has us on their calendar for Thursday and Friday, July 17 and July 18th, 2008!!!!!

WE will be working on the bus rentals next, and pricing for the registration form will follow.

A "Liquid Lunch" may be in order, hope free taxis are available for designated NON-drivers!

IF there's no snow/salt on the hyways, AND they display the last Reatta convertible built, THEN I'll drive it's only surviving sibling, "Black Beauty"

from Milwaukee for this event. See photo.

So, I'll enter a tentative yes for 2+ attendees to this tour, myself, my bride, Panikmekanik, and of course, "Black Beauty", for a reunion, of sorts.

I was there on Friday with the CLC. The "Y" job wss there. And they don't turn the cars every week. Sometimes it is every day, or day or two. This is the candy store supreme! When you finish your stay, you will believe Charlie Wilson when he said, "What's good for GM is good for the USA. See if you can find out why Pontiac had "bunny ears" on their hood ornament a couple of years before Cadillac's use of them in 1957 and 1958. Enjoy the tour. It will be well worth your while.

Folks - I cannot stress enough - if you can go, Get there! I was there last year for a Camaro event...grown men cried at the treasures each turn up each row of cars presented. I nearly fainted, as the Y job and Lesabre were together - side by side...I touched them both. It is Automotive Nirvana if you are a GM fan. Best day of my life as a car guy. Ranks up there with meeting Chip Foose at his shop and sitting down with Charlie and talking shop. $1000 admission fees would be acceptable to get into this show. I would pay it!!!

Hello Roberta; I'm contemplating flying into town for this event (and couple others) from Minnesota and just wonder what kind of reservations I need to get in before I book a flight. Can I be guaranteed I'll get in? Obviously, I can take care of myself regarding travel arrangements, I just mean getting into the Heritage Collection. Thanks.

One last question: are there restrictions on photography or video? Or are we able to shoot whatever? See you next Saturday, Mike.
