XXX drive in

Okay, my curiosity is up. What's with the triple X drive in in Seattle? In NY, XXX usually refers to something to do with entertainment intended for adults only. <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" /> Here is part of a post from Centurion on the thread about the West Coast Caravan to Seattle:

"We'll make sure we give Gary and the Buick a special role in our massive cruise of vintage Buicks to the last remaining XXX Root Beer Drive-In in America for a fun dinner on Thursday evening."

So can someone fill me in on what I'm missing here??? <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

If I recall, I think that is a brand name for a root beer, but I am not certain.

A brand name or an "excellent quality" rating, either one? Kind of like "Premium Lager" is to beer?

Now, if Buicks are going to be associated with anything "XXX", you'll know it's got to be CLASSY!

Hi John, it's a brand of root beer that also had a chain of drive-in restaurants. Only one of the restaurants remains, and that's where we'll be heading.

At last year's Oldsmobile Nationals in Seattle, 142 vintage Oldsmobiles cruised under police escort to the XXX. We expect that a significantly greater number of Buicks will make the cruise to dinner.

Wow, the picturs of some of that food on the website almost made me change my mind about coming out to Seattle.

Be sure to watch the monthly ads we've started in the Buick "Bugle". You may have noticed the September ad for the LeMay Automobile Collection, and the XXX Drive-In will be the subject of one of the upcoming ads.

That's SOME menu, Centurion!! Seems "Chevy-heavy" in the names, though (wonder why they didn't name that big Cheeseburger "The Heavy Chevy"?? trademark issues, maybe?). Or should that big burger have "When Better Burgers Are Built, XXX WILL Build Them!" as it's tag line??

Looks like a really happening place to be.

Mmmmm...beer. I have a Castlemain shirt "I can feel a XXXX coming on". It's getting pretty decrepit now as I've had it for about 15 years. Decent stuff...too bad it's tough to find in these parts.
