Skippy
I am looking for the part number for a 1955 Buick Special. We changed the oil on the vehicle last night. To be honest, not bad looking oil in the filter cannister as well as in the pan after 41 years.....The filter that was on the vehicle is round and encased in metal. The actual filter inside the encasing appears to be cardboard. The green cannister where the filter is held has a part number painted on the outside however, the numbers to worn to be legible. Look forward to any insights from fellow members. Thanks,Skippy
John
The replacement cartridge would be:AC P115orFram CH106PL orPurolator L40124Try local auto parts store--Napa, AutoZone, etc--if they can't get it I probably have one but it should be available to you locally, maybe in another brand.John

Guest sixpack2639
Baldwin filters http://www.baldwinfilters.com makes a direct replacement for the P115. It is a P53. There is a store/supplier locator on their site. Hope that helps, Carl
Ron Green
I just bought 2 of these (AC Delco) from Advance Auto Parts. It took a day to get them as they had to come from the zone warehouse. I used to buy 50 old year ones at the swap meets until I found out they are still readily available.
