shart
I recently became interested in old floor jacks and bought a Walker mechanical jack from the mid to late 1920?s. The jack you see here is not a Walker as far as I can tell. The ID plate on it isn?t readable anymore. I believe it could be a Lincoln or maybe a Weaver or other brand. That?s my question. Judging from the wheel pants and art deco lines I?d guess its from the 30?s or 40?s. Can anyone help me ID what brand this jack is? Thanks much! Guest De Soto Frank
I'd like to know too...I have the exact same jack, which I rescued from a local scrap-yard while dropping off other junk (kind of defeats the purpose of the trip in the first place... )I still use mine...although I must say, it IS a heavy d___ thing !The "skirted" casters are just too much ! dep5
I have one just like it, I believe it is a Weaver WA72 (2 ton) or (WA73 4 ton) vintage late thirties. See my pics online. Thanks, Dan Click to View -> Garage Stuff
KRK Sr.
Hello Shart, I can not put a manufacture to this jack from the top of my head, however with the "deco" lines on the top of the rear base and the covered wheels with speed wings it has to be from the early 30's. I will look in some early auto parts Company tool catalogs and see if we can get an ID for you. Check back soon. Karl
shart
Dan, that's great! I really appreciate you reading and replying to my posting. That jack in your link sure is very close to the one I showed photos of in my first post. I like old garage stuff also. Just running out of room to buy too much of it. Found a neat old suction gun made in my city, Kansas City but really got hooked on the floor jacks and small screw jacks. I'm trying to stick with the Walker brand to it doesn't get crazy but I may buy this Weaver from my friend because of the art deco lines. Thanks again!
