Amphicar BUYER
I met West P. this AM so he could shoot some photos. It turned out that he was able to document her 1st swim in almost 40 years. Only a very slight dribble. She didn't want to leave the water! See ya Saturday in NorthGlenn, Co!
R W Burgess
Cool picture. It'll be in my next newsletter, if I can clone the "short fellow" out of the picture! <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> Hope ya'll have 2 great shows out there. Guest Moepar
Way cool! I can't quite tell, is that a red or a dark pink?
Shop Rat
You should use the other shot, you can't see the propellers in the one with West in it.

West took some good shots of it in the water.
bschemesc/rambler
That looks like a lot of fun !!!!! Has been so hot here I think I should trade the SC/Rambler for one of those. ( YOU HAVE NO LEAKS in a lake and I HAVE A LAKE IN THE RAMBLER WHEN IT RAINS ). Those Ramblers never sealed up good even when they were new. I'm on top of the world as they showed my SC in the new AACA magazine. thanks, Matt

Ron Green
John, Congratulation on getting another one on the road / water. It looks like a keeper and only a slight dribble is good news. Can't wait to read the write up as West does a great job. Now if I could only convince the owners of the two Amphicars in my area to sell as they have been stored for 30 plus years with one being claimed as to never have been in the water.Did you install the new generation of hand controls in this one yet? Have fun at the show, you will meet a lot of great people and your jaws will probably be sore from talking.

It was fun to get another one wet as always. Kinda like when you 1st get a new engine started, but better! Ron, you should have no problem convincing them with your charm and a billy club! If it happens, I'm with ya if you don't take 'em both.<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">Did you install the new generation of hand controls in this one yet? This car drives super nice! (in Amphicar terms anyway!) At shows there are times that I change shirts from Amphicar shirt to a HD shirt so I can sit back and observe. I like to hear how many of these folks bought a new Amphibious Metropolitan in 1957. The Dads trying to impress thier kids are fun to. Pulling "facts" out of thier a$$ about how (pointing at the hand controls) "those are the controls that change in into a boat". Good entertainment at the least! Guest Moepar
Gotta love that 'knock 'em down, run 'em over' red & white top. Just the colors on my 300. No one can say they can't see ya coming in that!

R Walling
I thing this whole AMPHICAR thing is just because you guys are too lazy to wash the whitewalls and do it the easy way
Shop Rat
Might be, but I am not sure I would want to have to clean the minnows out of the hubcaps.
West Peterson
Just got back from Colorado. I'd love to post a photo of John's car in the water (I've also go a great shot of him hitting the surface at some 15mph), but I think I'll make you wait until the magazine comes out with the car featured. The photos look so good that I think I'm going to try and get it into the next issue. For all of you non AACA members... well, that's just too bad. You can join at AACA.org (click on "About"). If you join now, you won't miss the next issue. Better hurry, though, the list closing is coming up VERY soon!
Amphicar BUYER
It was fun and I am proud that the event was captured by you West. Now that I think about it, the entry was closer to 20 MPH.
