Guest
There is another term occasionally used for snow, especially after lots of repeated snowfalls.THE WHITE DUNG. hvs
Ccar
In Delaware it will be in the '60's today as it has been for several past. I envy the four of you stranded in Cheyenne, will maybe only two are stranded. The other two could be in a warmer climate like the islands or such. Dan wanted to know where the white went when snow melted. Here in the East, much of the white turns black first then deposits itself on anything below it... Not like the white in Wisconsin (or Wyoming or Colorado or ?) Sure miss those days.Sally and Ron, enjoy the fire and don't hurry home, your're in good company..Chuck
6219_Rules
I was born in Missouri and my family is from Minnesota...I guess I inherited a very warm system cause I walk out in 34 degree (Fahrenheit) weather in a t-shirt and jeans most comfortably. I only really get cold or chilled below 32 degrees. Snow feels warm...and I love the bright white, and the smell of a norther. So how did I end up in Texas for over 26 years??? Good question...job, family etc. Good times by and large...I was a post grad at SMU and loved it.Houston was very good to me...but the heat and humidity were death. Anything over 75 and I get sick. If I'm caught out in the sun, I get heat stroke in less than an hour...more exposure leaves me hospitalized...so I stayed in all the time. Desert heat is easier to take but just as detrimental. It is why I had to leave Archaeology as a career...heat stroke, kidney failure...all that good stuff and a pity too. I loved it and was good at it. Computers are indoors so being in Texas was OK. WTMI. That is why I love the white stuff. Today is bright, clear and crisp with snow on the ground...a perfect day. I have thought of moving farther north...like Canada to get closer to the weather I like best, mean of 62 and open tundra. Hmmmmm. Happy Holidays to Everyone! I hope your times with family and friends bring you joy and great satisfaction. Life is truly wonderful. Oh and to keep to the topic....I used to write from work in off times when the users were quiet in their cages, but as time and health failed, I have taken to writing on the net as well as poetry and fiction at home from my iBook. So I am here posting or monitoring most of the time. Occasionally I do other things but that is my main work. I keep busy.

RoadsterRich
I work on computers for a living... I tend to post while on the computer... I don't tend to compute when I'm not working. And no I won't get in trouble at work for being online or talking old cars. While it may not pay in money at least it pays in perks to be the boss...In my case during the week free time is typically for the 1930 Chrysler 77 Roadster, during the weekend for the Jaguar Mk IX Saloon.Unfortunately I'm at work at the moment... sometimes it doesn't pay to be the boss...Rich
