raleets
Pat,Man, would I ever love to be there! But the drive is just a tad much for a one day stand and then have time to get back to Flint for the Buicktown Chapter's annual Fall Color Tour on Sunday, October 19th.You, and everyone else from your Chapter are, however, cordially invited to join us for a drive thru the gorgeous, colorful Michigan back roads, including a stop at a cider mill and dinner in the afternoon.Isn't it grand to enjoy our Buicks?? Bob LeetsDirector, Buicktown Chapter
Guest
Reminder to Buick owners and members of the Buick Club of America, Central New England Chapter, Minuteman Chapter, Yankee Chapter, and other Northeast Chapters:Pat Hayes, the Director of the Central New England Chapter, Buick Club of America, has sent me the following invitation to be forwarded to all Minuteman Chapter members. Pat is the Parts Manager at Cernak Buick which was founded in 1947 by Samuel Cernak. At 92 years old, Sam can be seen many days reading his newspaper in the dealership showroom while checking up on things. Ken Cernak, his son, runs the dealership today. Cernak Buick is one of three Buick only dealerships remaining in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Can you name the other two?The Cernaks own a 1922 Buick which was recently taken out of long term storage and used in their current advertising along with a 2004 Buick Rainier SUV. Ken Cernak will have his very low mileage 1990 Maui Blue Reatta convertible on the showfield along side my 1990 Artic White convertible. This celebration will be the second and last Buick only event in our region during 2003.Please email Pat Hayes (Bkarnutt37@aol.com)or Marc Brouillette (MMCBCA@aol.com) if you plan to attend so that the Cernaks can plan the showfield layout on a grassy area and the amount of food to prepare. The Minuteman Chapter did not plan a fall apple picking tour this year, but if anyone is interested in purchasing/picking apples at a Western MA apple orchard, let Marc Brouillette know by responding to this email. We might be able to depart from Easthampton as a group for those interested. We had to go all the way to Flint, MI to see 100 or more Buicks this year even though we had hopes of mustering 100 Buicks for the Tulley show in June and the Wachusett show in August, so get those Buicks out for one last driving event of the 2003 season! You are cordially invited to a "Buick Centennial Celebration" Saturday October 18th 10:00 AM to 3:00 PMsponsored by Central New England Chapter, BCA and Cernak Buick Inc. on the grounds of Cernak Buick Inc, 102 Northampton Street in Easthampton MAThis will be a relaxing non judged event on a beautiful fall day!! There are no entry fees/no costs. Free hot dogs, hamburgers, popcorn and soda for those that bring their old cars. Only five miles from I-91 exit 17B North. Come spend a relaxing day with Buick friends both old and new. If planning to attend or have any questions, please E-mail bkarnutt37@aol.comDirections:From the east take I-90 (Mass Pike) to I-91 North towards Holyoke, Exit 4.Proceed about 3 miles north to Exit 17B, Route 141 West to Easthampton, then 5 miles northwest over Mt. Tom to Route 10 North. Cernak Buick will be on the left less than a mile north of the center of Easthampton.

Guest
Cernak Buick of Easthampton, MA in Western MA and South Shore Buick of Quincy, MA in Eastern MA are two of the last three Buick only dealers in Massachusetts. There is at least one more.Clue it is in Eastern Massachusetts in the Greater Boston area and a well known Buick dealer name for many years but no longer advertises Buicks with which it started, since it concentrates on high line German imports (Mercedes, Porsche, Audi), Toyota, Jeep, Saturn, and many other dealerships in Massachusetts and Maine. jbbuick22
Clair in West Roxbury must be the third. Audi and Porsche was the clue for me. John Beatty 22-6-
Guest
Ernie Clair is the third Buick only dealer remaining in Massachusetts. No others have been identified. There were others before the major realignment to Buick Pontiac and Buick Pontiac GMC which started around August 1, 1998 when several Buick only dealers were closed.Magna in Holyoke, MA and Dino in Stoughton, MA were closed August 1, 1998.Warren on Dynaflow Drive in Hyannis, MA was closed August 1, 2002. The Buick line was given to the Pontiac GMC dealer in Hyannis. There may be others but I do not have a list of them.
