That's the cast aluminum crankcase with the hole from the errant rod.  Two cast iron cylinder *blocks* (right & left) are bolted to the aluminum crankcase, and cast iron heads atop the blocks.  Separate aluminum crankcases were the norm for many marques ending about that period.

This MIGHT be a parts car for adding 4 wheel brakes to a pre 1926 Lincoln.  
Beyond that, it might yield some small things, but way beyond repairing this one.  

It’s in Reno, if you got it for free and paid the shipping perhaps you could get some value from it.
