Ace 32
Hey Buick guys ,, I'm needing advice on how to remove the my1932 Buick hood door louver spear knobs ? Can it be done without taking the vent doors off? They seem pretty tough to take off much less put them back on. From what I can see, it looks like they are pop-riveted on on the back side. Want to re-chrome them. Thanks for any help! I hope this opened up in the pre-war Buick page!
alsancle
I'm not a Buick guy but they should be screwed on from the back of the vent. Post a picture.
southpaw
Ace, They are not removable. The had protrusions that were swaged on at the factory. If you remove them, you will have to drill and tap them. I used 4-40 screws. I think I have a set that is chromed. Will look tomorrow. Jim
Robert Engle
That's what I did with my 32-58. grind off and drill and tap. I did the drill and tap before sending for chrome plating. I left the screws in with grease on the threads before plating. Bob engle
