Neat vehicle. The modernizing of the drivetrain doesn't bother me at all as I have just completed something similar. The thought of riding in that back seat while going down the highway gives me the shivers. Any kind of rear end accident would be fatal I'm afraid.

I think that with a little judicious work with a Skill saw and some plywood, you could create a pretty good pickup truck. Nothing fancy, but certainly more practical.
