Mister Fab
Hello all, It's been a few months since I have post on the forum. I had to put the 67 riviera restoration project on the side for some time due to personal problems. Today I measured my cylinders to check if they were correct before reassembling the engine. all cylinder measurements are close, there are no big deviations. According to the workshop book, the original bore should be 4.1875 inches. The measurements I find are between 4.2204 and 4.2181, which make a 0.030 difference. Can someone confirm the engine has probably been rebored?
gungeey
Sounds like another set of careful measurements need to be taken. But, yes, likely .030 oversize. The piston tops should have 030 stamped on them 2
Mister Fab
I'll get my pistons back next week as my crank is being repaired and balanced. I'll check them. Thank you @gungeey
telriv
You can't do a proper balance job WITHOUT THE PISTONS. You also need to have the flexplate & harmonic balancer on/mounted for proper balance. The con rods also need to be checked/balanced to properly balance the crank. Tom T.
Mister Fab
Yes @telriv, that's what is done now and why I don't have my pistons 😉
