Slacker
Where does the round cork gasket go on the timing cover. I assume it’s a seal for the harmonic balancer, but there there is no way to hold it in place. Does it go between the cover and balancer? Slacker
Is there still a problem with my information!
Oldtech
No, but there is a problem knowing the answer. Can you post a pic of the timing cover? 29 didn't have a seal, just a slinger 30 early may be same. Is it a harmonic balancer or just a pulley? Dave39MD
The first seal in the Chevrolet parts book is 1935. They did continue the oil thrower/slinger after the seal for some period of time. Dave
a sell
The round cork gaskets you found in your gasket are probably the ones for the engine side cover. They glue to the inside around the spark plug holes. '29 did not use them and it is vented in a different manor than the '30 and newer engines.
