1963 studebaker lark 2-door custom for sale by owner - Seattle, WA - craigslist
Seller's Description:

Classic original daily driver that was last on the road on 1997 at which time it was put into storage in a dry garage near Green Lake until 2 years ago when I bought it.  Last driven in 1997. * Original mileage believed to be under 48,000 miles.  All mechanical systems have been gone thru and it drives beautifully!
Starts easily/never quits/ extremely quiet cabin due to added insulation.  3-speed manual transmission with OVERDRIVE.
Original and rust free (just some surface). Original paint with patina, some small scrapes and dents (the car is 60 years old).  I removed old carpets/door panel trim and proceeded to sand surfaces and then painted all surfaces with POR 15 paint, apply sound reducing material, carpet insulation before installing new carpeting and finally all new original upholstery.
Recent updates include rebuilt carburetor, (5) new tires, painted rims, new locks and keys for doors/trunk/glove box/ignition switch. License plate lights, owner's manual, trunk lid badge, hood insulation pad, brake master cylinder, color wiring diagram, brake light switch, V-belt, flushed radiator, New hoses/thermostat/coolant sending unit, battery cables, custom spark plug wires, spark plugs, battery, points, condenser, air cleaner etc.  2 window regulators need adjustments, vent window lock broken.  Starts right up and runs and stops smoothly. Long list of updates over the last two years. Original paint. Manual 3-speed.

If interested, come check it out in West Seattle.  Title is free and clear in my name. Collector plates. I will not respond to inquiries without your real name and contact information.  $8800 cash only.  Price is firm! Please don’t waste our time if you’re not seriously interested.  Thanks for your interest.

I'm a big fan of the Lark, and may own one someday. Might Studebaker have sold more overdrives than anyone else? Sadly, that OHV six doesn't have a great reputation. I'd have to hold out for an eight. I do like this color.

Years ago, the solution one Studebaker loyalist had for his problematic OHV six: replaced it with a low-mileage 185 ci flathead six from a 1955-'58 Champion.  He drove that car for years until rust got the frame.
