1965 Riviera Gran Sport - Accessory Switch

I am looking at a 1965 Riviera Gran Sport in an auction. I don't think the seller has much background on the Riviera. In many ways, neither do I. The seller says the car has all the options that were available in 1965. It looks like it could be a Riviera built with the Gran Sport option - will find out more in a day or two. One thing it doesn't have, but I see many 1965 Riviera Gran Sports had in previous sale listings, is an ACCESSORY switch above the radio and under the dash pad (see the attached picture for an example). What option on a 1965 Riviera was this switch used for? Or did all 1965 Riviera Gran Sports have this ACCESSORY switch (meaning what I am looking at may not be an original Gran Sport optioned Riviera)?

Probably a switch for a rear window defogger.

Ed is correct. And this has no bearing on whether it is a Gran Sport. I refer you to the ROA members page for proper identification. Or you can post photos here and we can pick it apart.

Just the switch or the entire unit? If you do find a unit, make sure you get the resistor that goes with it.
