  1. To the top! Anyone have an idea how to interpret the ACC. code on this cowl data plate at least?
  2. Hello. There is a 1964 Bonneville I am considering for purchase. I was hoping someone could help decode the cowl data plate for me. I can't find a way to post a picture of the plate, so I will try to spell it out here. Date: 07C Style: 64-2867 Body: BK 2315 Trim: 294 Paint: A 1 Acc.: 2-10 It has a lot of options, but the Acc. section only lists 2-10. Does 2-10 mean a particular group of options was ordered? If so, what were those group of options? Also, the car was restored about 7 years ago, frame off, engine & transmission included in scope. Very few miles put on since the restoration. Maybe not concourse condition, but likely excellent condition. What is a reasonable value of such a car? Thanks in advance for taking a look and (hopefully) providing some input.
  3. I am looking at a 1965 Riviera Gran Sport in an auction. I don't think the seller has much background on the Riviera. In many ways, neither do I. The seller says the car has all the options that were available in 1965. It looks like it could be a Riviera built with the Gran Sport option - will find out more in a day or two. One thing it doesn't have, but I see many 1965 Riviera Gran Sports had in previous sale listings, is an ACCESSORY switch above the radio and under the dash pad (see the attached picture for an example). What option on a 1965 Riviera was this switch used for? Or did all 1965 Riviera Gran Sports have this ACCESSORY switch (meaning what I am looking at may not be an original Gran Sport optioned Riviera)? Thank you for your time in looking into this and responding to my question.
  4. On this particular convertible, there is a courtesy light just above and to the right of the radio (under the dash pad). Just forward of the courtesy light are two switches. One says antennae (Up/Down), which is the left switch. I can't get a good view of the right switch. But on another picture I found of a 1960 Electra 225, this particular car only has one switch on the right side of the courtesy light above and to the right of the radio, and this picture clearly shows the switch says "Rear Speaker". It doesn't say fader. But what else could it be. I'll have to assume the convertible I have pictures of does have a "Rear Speaker" switch then, which I'll assume is the fader control. The radio itself on the convertible says "Wonderbar" at the top of it. I see other 1960 Electra 225's have radios that say "Sonomatic" at the top of the radio. The Wonderbar radio looks like it has a little slide switch under the Wonderbar name on it, which the Sonomatic lacks. What is the difference between these two radios?
  5. Thank you, sean1997, for you decoding input. Appreciate that a lot. The car does seem to have what you decoded the on the body tag. Can I assume "power vents" means powered side door vent windows (as opposed to vents in the foot-wells)? It does have the powered side door vent windows. I haven't gone out to see the car yet. But have a bunch of pictures. The pictures show that it has a rear seat speaker grille, so I suspect there is a speaker behind the grille. Nothing on the radio indicates the presence of a rear seat speaker (no fader control, for example). The car has 2 back-up lamps (located in the rear bumper). The inside rearview mirror does have a tab on the bottom center of the mirror, so I suspect that it is a glare-proof interior mirror. I don't know what a parking brake signal is on one of these - there is a small red lens that is under the dash next to the driver side vent knob (just to the right of it) - could that be the parking brake signal? I don't know where to look in the pictures for a safety buzzer. It does have the autronic eye for headlight control up on the dash pad (same color as the dash pad). It also has a twilight sentinel sensor in the dash pad, near the autronic eye (Guide-Matic) used to turn the headlights on & off based on ambient light conditions. Don't know if any of these actually work anymore, but it has it on it.
  6. My mistake. It is the body tag on a 1960 Buick Electra 225. The body tag says: STYLE 60-4867 BODY FB 1782 TRIM 869 PAINT VV3 ACC. B E I6 N7 U6 The "E" in ACC. could be an F - it is hard to be certain from what I can see. The VIN tag says: BUICK 8G1032217
  7. I'm checking out a 1960 Buick Electra 225. I have the information from the data plate, but I can't find any kind of decoder, especially for the accessories. Can anyone help me with this? Data plate says: STYLE 60-4867 BODY FB 1782 TRIM 869 PAINT VV3 ACC. B E I6 N7 U6 The "E" in ACC. could be an F - it is hard to be certain from what I can see.
  8. Hi there. Not sure I am in the right place. I just wanted to know if there is any information out there regarding the 1963 Pontiac Bonneville. Looking for things like standard equipment on them, MSRP & order code numbers for the body styles (sedans, coupes, convertibles), followed by options available (with order code numbers and MSRP prices). I see a lot of that information out there for Buicks of this era, but haven't found much for Pontiacs (in particular, the 1963 model year). Also, are there PDF versions (available for free downloading, if possible) for the chassis and body service manuals for a 1963 Pontiac Bonneville? There is a particular one out there for sale that has piqued my interest, but I'm not sure some (many) of the options listed were actually available in 1963 for it. I am looking for a collector quality 1963 Pontiac Bonneville, so being true to what was available from the factory at the time of manufacture is important to me. I know this is a long shot, but just wondering if anyone out there may be able to help me out. And if this thread isn't posted in the right forum, if one of you could move it to where it belongs, or let me know what is the appropriate forum, would appreciate it.
  9. Old listing (6 years ago), but did you (48Super) ever sell your 66 Wildcat?
  10. Steve, just want to double check, your 65 Riv silver/black Gran Sport advertised here is now sold? It doesn't say that in this thread, but your signature says it is sold. Just want to verify.
