I have no personal interest or stake in the eventual sale of this 1946 Mercury Eight 2dr Sedan.
The Standard Catalog of American Cars, 1946-1975, Edited by John Gunnell states 13,108 1946 Mercury Eight 2dr Sedans Body Type 70 built, followed by 34 1947 Mercury Eight 2dr Sedans Body Type 70 after which the style was dropped from the model line.   Note the vent windows in the divided long rear quarter windows carried over from 1941-'42, a Mercury-only feature not shared with Fords.

Rather a rare bird these days. If it were for sale west of the Rockies, it would have been in my garage yesterday! I owned a couple of Fords of the same body style through my college years and wish I still had one. I might try to bargain a little due to a few minor details and change the tires to black walls, but otherwise drive it everywhere.
