Deanoko
I will admit that I can dive into some pretty deep minutae with this car, so one of the things that was bugging me was looking over at the passenger door panel and seeing the 9 o'clock "spear" broken off the R emblem of the wood grain panel. I have checked around and these emblems are pretty much unobtanium. A couple days ago a fix occurred to me, so I will impart my solution here. I found a common nail of the same diameter, then ground off about ¼, creating a flat back. Trimmed it to a matching length and painted it with some terrific chrome paint pens I bought on line. On a flat surface I glued it to the hoop circle (the emblem had been removed) and let it set up, carefully lifting it off intact. I then used 3M trim adhesive glue and placed it back onto the wood panel, later cleaning up the excess with a dental tool. I think you would have to look close to see the repair. Riv Eng
I have a parts car with these intact. I would have to make sure the ones going back in my restoration are in good condition, but otherwise willing to part out. Let me know.
Deanoko
Possibly interested. They were originally held in with swedged posts so be careful removing them. PM with terms please. I only need the one and the one I repaired looks pretty good. Thanks.
lrlforfun
I've done a 64 custom and 65 Standard. I did NOT choose to put the emblems back as my elbow was getting scraped from the contact. The tape on a 65 Custom is a challenge. Mitch

Of course you’ve got to be able and willing to make silicone molds. Turbinator
