John_S_in_Penna
I like the styling of the 1977-79 General Motors full-sized cars, including this Oldsmobile 98. They are comfortable, full-sized but not too big, and typically very reliable. Car companies' styling varies from year to year, and sometimes can go from beautiful to unattractive in just a year or two. It's amazing to me that ALL FIVE marques over at least 3 years produced very good looking cars. Thanks for your continued work, Steve, making the "Not Mine" section interesting! avgwarhawk
A car from my youth. I can smell that GM new car smell. Velour. Soft cushy ride. This is a nice ride for the price.

I immediately liked the downsized 1977 GM Full-sized cars when they appeared. The GM downsized designs were much more successful than the follow-up Ford Panther platform or Mopar platform equivalents, though they had their moments. The Oldsmobile 98 got even more attractive with the 1980 re-style which included formal C-Pillar roof, fender skirts and details that evoked the 1960's 98's. Of this Olds 98, I'd say it's a scream deal if its checks out to be functionally as good as it looks. Even disregarding its 'collectible' status, for a daily driver at a reasonable price, this would be difficult to match. I think the 98 engine was the 403 ci V8, but I haven't the spec's at hand. TexRiv_63
I had a 78 Regency coupe for a few years in the early 80s, one of the best and most comfortable cars I ever owned. This appears in very nice shape with all the plastic bumper fillers still there, although the front floor looks pretty messed up. At that beater price though definitely worth a look.
