Twisted Shifter
24 lousy photos in cl ad, but appears to possibly be an easy project, with some TLC and some $$. https://houston.craigslist.org/cto/d/houston-1971-ford-ltd-2dr-convt/7597399542.html I am attempting to sell this car for my mom. She lives in Arkansas, and isn’t in the greatest of health. The car has always been in the garage since my stepdad purchased it in 2012. He wasn’t able to finish getting it back in the road before his passing in 2017. Mom just wants it to go before it’s too gone. The car- 1971 Ford LTD Limited 2dr convt. 429 cid. Dual line double pumper Holley carb, 4 valve, 60,000 original miles, Auto transmission- UC6, Date of manufacture-2/1971, Body- 76H, Axle- 325.1, Dual 3” factory exhaust. All numbers matching. Has a new alternator, needs a new battery. Will need possible carb adjustment to run. Last ran was 2015, been in garage ever since. Will also need a new top. Motor for top works and frame for top is in working condition. Aside from aftermarket steering wheel, and missing glove box lid, all else is original. Only 849 of these with this particular trim and engine package were made for that year. email: 1779962c32783a89a6b1904efca32f76@sale.craigslist.org Edited March 13, 2023 by Twisted Shifter (see edit history)
B Jake Moran
I’d love that. Trimmed like it is, it’s likely rather rare. Most of these had 351s and a bench seat.
TAKerry
Neat car, I would think a pretty good price as well. It does look pretty solid.
kingrudy
Seems like it would be good small project, if the compression check is ok. Worth the gamble IMO.
m-mman
Last year for buckets and floor shift on a full size Ford. It wasn’t very popular. The era for full size sports cars was long gone. B Jake Moran
I like the 70-72 full size Ford convertible’s because I like the Chrysler fuselage look and to a lesser degree the GM versions. I would take an XL or LTD like this one but I like the hidden headlight look and Magnums
