BlueDevil
My 72's master cylinder is not tapped for a brake light switch. It was made in Sept of '27. Did early cars have a different brake light switch setup?
leomara
I don't know about that, this is what I believe is the correct master cylinder for my Model 72 and it has 3 ports, my assumption is the one in front is for the brake light switch.
BlueDevil
I don't have the rear port. Only have 2. I guess I can drill and tap. Thanks
leomara
I find it puzzling that your master cylinder is different. Hopefully someone can enlighten us.
BlueDevil
The owner's manual from August of 1927 on page 52 shows no brake switch and makes no mention of it in the description and lists no switch.
leomara
However, my July of 1927 owners manual page 69 distinctly shows the master cylinder with the tail light switch.
Gasket
Hi, Chrysler Master Parts List, June 15, 1934, does not show brake light switch for "Plain Type." Model code J is Series 72 Chrysler. Perhaps brake lights were an option in 1928. Cheers
Vintageben
Hmm interesting stuff here is a pic of my master cylinder on my Chrysler 72 coupe and it appears to have a brake light switch
