Throttle linkage 1965 Ford Falcon 170 cid Six C4 automatic

Looking for a picture or illustration of the correct linkage for the above mentioned car.  Mustang linkage is different and that information is available.  Linkage for 1964 Falcon is also different as the 3 speed auto C4 was not offered in Falcon until 1965.

This is for a friend's car.  He just got it running this week after many years.  It started and ran, but the way the linkage is currently set up, the throttle return spring holds the throttle open--disconnecting the spring allows the engine to idle.

Specif9ically --need to see the size of the spring and where it hooks on both ends.

Larry, Thank you, but I believe that this Falcon has the floor-mounted accelerator pedal.  IIRC, the '65 Mustang introduced that suspended pedal and the Large Fords used it too, but I think Falcon stayed with the old style.  I will forward it to my friend.

Would a 1965 Ford service manual have that information? It'd be a great investment anyway if he has a 65 Falcon.

That diagram is for Falcon, Comet and Fairlane six cylinders.  It is from a 1966 Ford shop manual.

Car in question is a 1965. 1966 Falcon and 1966 Comet/Fairlane have different bodies from their 1965 versions. Don't know how much of the underpinnings are the same between years. That's why I suggested the 1965 manual.

I think this is the linkage you want but all it shows of the spring is the very end in the top left corner.
