Leif in Calif
Looks like a great way to get into the hobby! Not "correct" but a very usable car. https://corvallis.craigslist.org/cto/7557514965.html email: c31583a5b4f034fd94e4bada311f509a@sale.craigslist.org I bought it several years ago and I really enjoy it, but I rarely take it out so I am selling it on to someone else who will appreciate it as much as I have. I really wanted to keep this all stock, so it still has the original engine and transmission, and is still the original 6 volt electrical system. I rebuilt the engine when I first got it (including having the radiator rebuilt), and have only put a few miles on it since then. I also rebuilt the front end and replaced the brake shoes recently. Some details:3-speed manual transmission (on the steering column).217 cubic inch straight 6 (this is the engine that came standard with the manual transmission)Aftermarket turn signals (installed before I got it)I am flexible on price. If you are interested, please email me via craigslist, and I will respond with phone contact info.
plymouthcranbrook
That looks like a good car at a good price. It would give the experience of owning an old car without a high cost. And really, does a bit of inaccurate repair or parts really matter to most people? I expect not. DrumBob
That would be a great first car for me, but it seems like every great deal I find here is on the other side of the country. 🤬 I could live with the tomato soup paint job. Sal Hepatica
A visit to Maaco is in order, or, put a gumball on top and "Fire Dept" on the doors
Crusty Trucker
I worked for a used car dealer as a kid in the early '60's. He bought these basic Chevys from the phone company, sometimes two or three at a time, for about $150. each. He paid me $10. to sand and mask them for painting and he sprayed them with a $10. gallon of enamel. We painted the tires and rubber floor mats, and sold them on the lot for $395 to $495, depending on the customer and the terms. A lot of customer trade-ins received the same treatment.
