sagefinds
It's a Budd-Michelin wheel used extensively by the above mentioned Dodge Bros in the mid twenties at that size but also most medium series Nash,Studebaker and many others of the day. They also came in four and six lug versions depending on the size and weight of the car and I've seen up to 25" on teens cars.

1912Staver
Value really depends on condition. Main concern is rust. You can't really tell anything until the tire is removed and a good assesment of the degree of rust is undertaken. The best practice is to sand blast the wheel and then assess the condition. But that's a lot of work for what is probably a $100.00 - $150.00 wheel even if in very good condition. Any serious buyer is going to factor in the cost of sand blasting and the posibility the rim is junk before making an offer. With todays high shipping costs buyers want to have a very good idea of the condition of things like wheels before buying. Impossible with the tire still on the wheel. dibarlaw
Understandable as I was given a 21" split rim from a friend for a 1926-1928 Buick standard. By the time the tire was cut off the rim and I did a light sand blast not much was left.
sagefinds
12Staver is pretty much right on. If the tire is left on and stored out in the weather, water gets in between and never evaporates and never stops rusting the rim away. If you look down between the tire and rim edge on both sides and see little if any scaling, the rim might be okay. Look on the back side where you can see the wheel edges where they are riveted to the rim. If part of that edge is rusted away or you can see rustout coming through the rim,the likely only value is in the lockring and maybe the tire for a roller. It'll be hard to get enough out of it to make it worthwhile to ship. But it depends on how bad someone needs it that can't get to the likely swapmeets, has some dough and will take the chance. That can be sent unboxed which will save time and money. FedEx Economy Ground would be my choice. Look it over real well,if there is little if any scaling and no gaping holes in the tire where it might hold air, list it on ebay for $189.95 shipping included to the lower continental 48. That's probably about enough out of me.
