Turbinator
In some cases when the cosmetic side of a turbine is in good shape, but stud mounts ( bossrs ) are broken. The stud mounts can be rebuilt. See in photo attached. No sense in throwing something away that may have value and can be repaired. Some might say repairing such an item is Depression Era thinking. In the case replacement parts are available it might make sense to buy new. In the case you can TIG weld then it might be better to repair. Options are good. TexRiv_63
Great work to cure a common problem with these.
Turbinator
Thank you for your input. If the cosmetic side is cracked or gouged I’ve learned some people expect to see the contours of weld metal on the cast aluminum shaped as when it was new. There may be metal refinishers that can reshape the weld metal to make the contours appear as new. If it is possible for this application I have not unlocked the code. In the meantime the cast aluminum turbine when cleaned up sure is pretty. Turbinator
