Looks an "honest" car...

https://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/cto/d/mountain-view-1940-chevy-master-85/7514672076.html

Never had any rust
Very original car with all the dings and dents that come along with being loved and driven for over 80 years
Mostly original paint (Alameda green) with just the right amount of patina
All soft parts have been replaced (seals, grommets, weatherstripping, bushings, entire interior) no squeaks or rattles
Starts easy hot or cold even with original 6v system
Extremely reliable as I will often commute to work from Mountain View to Alameda with it
This is a bare bones car as everything was an option for these master 85 models
Some things were added to make the driving experience better: carpet kit and fully refurbished heater from a deluxe model, horn on the column, modern aftermarket temp gauge which never gets above 190
This car needs nothing and would prefer if the next caretaker would keep honoring how awesome this car is in its current form
I’ve got a lot more information about this car if you want to know anything more specific
From previous owner:
Engine rebuilt by original owner before they passed away
Transmission rebuilt using NOS parts
Vacuum shift assist removed
New clutch and resurfaced/ rebalanced flywheel
Rebuilt carb
Rebuilt steering box
New gas tank mounted in trunk
Entire brake system rebuilt (master/slaves/shoes/flex lines)
5 recent tires
New rubber running boards
All glass excellent except for slight discoloration of the wing windows

Final or what? Anyway, here's a link to the current (almost the same) ad.

I think the ship has sailed on this guys car.  Holding out for that one buyer who will over pay for this car is not worth it. The seller should drop the price and get it sold or keep it and continue to enjoy it.  Monkeying around 20 grand for this long seems a bit ridiculous to me!!!

I agree this ship has sailed, tired of seeing this for sale on Craigslist in sf bay area, soon he will raise the price to 25 k for the added aged "patina" Just pass it on to a person that can enjoy it for 12k and move on.
