Connecticut State home behind a 1925 Locomobile

Recommended Posts

If there was relevance due to proximity of the Marina Mansion to sell automobiles, maybe Pope Hartford?  Maybe much earlier Locomobile? Maybe one of the special early Locomobile race cars that were campaigned pre 1910?  Of course and Elephant would certainly be a serious curiosity for that neighborhood!  On the subject of The Greatest Show on Earth.  Was the Circus always moved by rail from one location to another?  Or did they use trucks some?

The top picture you posted?  Is that for real or just publicity of some sort?

Yes, she used an Indian motorcycle as well. Well ridded and put away broken it was at Hershey 25 or so years ago. Hope it is restored by now. Bob

Bob, It may not be directly on the subject of this chat, however the Circus stunt picture above does certainly relate to PT Barnum who did build and own the Marina Mansion and estate.  Does anyone have more specific information or even an old video clip that shows this "stunt" in progress.  How the devil did they make this thing work and not kill anyone?  "She" was mentioned above.  What about more information on "She".  This stunt must have been dreamed up after PT Barnum had died.  Was this stunt a brainchild of Bailey or someone else?
