1926 Model T VIN Location

I would like to get a T to fix up. I am considering a 26 T that has the closed cab separated from the chassis. Can anyone tell me where the VIN would be located and if the cab and frame are marked?

Also, what should one look for while inspecting the drivetrain, especially the transmission, in a non runner? My goal is to make a runner out it or another T, not concourous show example.

Thanks!

I missed that one, it sold before I could go see it. I am still looking around for a 20's to early 30's chassis but I have a lead on a '20 T that was a 4dr roadster that someone cut the rear section off. It may be a good baseline for my speedster project, I dont want to cut up a complete car and I dont want to spend a lot on one.
