DNC
Hi Friends, What time period would the badge below have been used? Would it have been used on all Willys Overland models. Thank you.
Terry Bond
Size? That will help determine its likely usage. Terry
wayne sheldon
Without good size reference, it is hard to tell if it is a radiator badge, or a lapel pin. The apparent pin-back suggests lapel pin, and I have seen a few over the years like that for Overland automobiles. Edited March 11, 2022 by wayne sheldon I hate leaving typos! Mark Wetherbee
I’m going to assume it is the late, and smallest version for the radiator emblem, which is listed as having been used from 1919-1926 according to the best online reference for American emblems. It’s on the common side but still a very nice emblem… http://www.americanautoemblems.com/search/label/OVERLAND?m=
DNC
Thank all of you for taking the time to respond. I have attached another picture below with size reference. This seems much too big and heavy for a pin.
Terry Bond
That size would be a radiator emblem. I can't make out the logo on the back side but it resembles the Bastian Brothers, Rochester NY logo. If that's the case, the emblem may be Canadian as per the American Automobile Emblem website, those were made by Bastian Bros. The red background resembles the example shown on the website. Mark Wetherbee
Definitely an American emblem, Canadian cars were built in Toronto Canada and marked such. The website is a little misleading as the text appears to be from the photo above it…
