Buick35
Running out of things to replace on my 35 40 series.I'm thinking of replacing the rear side motor mounts but since I have new front mounts and a new transmission mount how important are the rear mounts? They would have to be revulcanized I think.Maybe someday.Greg
Jim Nelson
If you have replaced the front mount and the tranny mount, you are putting the big load on the rear motor mounts. If they are not strong and picking up the load, you will stress the tranny mounts. JMHO, If you do mounts, you need to do all of them at the same time. The rear side mounts are quite hefty for the load they need to carry. In effects you have 5 separate mounts to hold the engine in place and absorb the vibrations. EmTee
Others have had their mounts re-vulcanized by Steele Rubber. https://forums.aaca.org/topic/300890-carolina-roadmasters-collect-all-4-38-roadmaster-model-87/?do=findComment&comment=2324389
