1934 Studebaker Dictator, "Startix" feature

Does anyone know anything about the 'Startix' feature on a 1934 Studebaker Dictator ? when I start the car, it seems that the starter continues to try and engage once the car has started. I find it interesting to start the car all you do is turn the key to the right and the car starts, no start button and the is only a three point key, middle is off, left is for the lights only etc.. and to the right it stays in that location and the car starts. In this case it seems to be erratic at best, the starter seems to want to keep starting, even as the engine is running.

Any input would be greatly appreciated, this is the first time this car has been started in 27 years, it has takin months to get to the point of actually starting the car, and now this issue.

mitchwhodge,  send me a private message. I've saved some old info found online I can send you. There are a lot of moving parts inside and since yours has sat idle for ages you will probably have to disassemble it and clean and free up the parts.

The first thing to do is clean up the connections on the Startix and to the generator.

Be sure you battery is FULLY charged. 6.1 volts or better. Also, check generator output.

Too many years have gone by, Google startix and you should find lots of information.

Usually about 7.2 volts but if 3rd brush type will vary considerably.
