stakeside
I am using the Stewart Detroit carb on my DA6 with the Stewart vac tank. It has become obvious that they have to operate as a unit. I have been driving my truck and things seemed great until I noticed excessive fuel consumption. While attempting to adjust the carb lean/rich screw I noticed that the adjustment had no effect on the engine operation. Could it be that fuel is coming to the engine thru the vacuum connection at the intake manifold? Any others had this happen?
Mattml430
I think it’s unlikely to come through the vacuum line and if it did it would probably flood and stop. when you adjust the mixture does it go to stall if you lean it off to much? I get my engine to cruising speed and turn the mixture in until it starts running rough and then come back about a 1/4 of a turn +or- a bit. stakeside
Thanks for information. I was finally able to drive to gas station and refuel. I have adjusted to lean and will keep eye on the fuel consumption.
nearchoclatetown
It actually can draw gas through the vacuum line, the line will feel cold when this happens. One of the seats has come loos. I had it happen.
