I need to redo the wiring on my 1953 Studebaker Champion.  I can not see how the instrument cluster is held in place.

I have fighting with this for months and am afraid of breaking something.  I am almost to the point of breaking it and hoping I can repair it!!

Please help me.

Cant say how it is attached, but suspect that it needs to be unbolted from underneath.

TAKE THE FRONT SEAT OUT for easier access.

My first car was a 53 Champion coupe, I would love to have another one.

I Think... That there are 2 screws to take out from behind the dash in the extreme upper corners of the Front bezel, Then there should be 4 screws - 2 at each end, to take the cluster loose from the dashboard.   I'm looking at a parts book, not a shop manual so may not quite be it.

There are 2 screws on each side of the instrument panel.  Take them out and remove the left and right side panels.  Loosen the set screws retaining the switches and push them out of the bezel.  Remove speedo cable and oil pressure gauge pipe.  On some models remove two bolts holding circuit breaker in place.  Pull cluster out.
