mlavin73
My Dad thinks this horn is from a 1931 Chevy. I don't see any markings on it to help confirm that. Does anyone know? Thank you!
28 Chrysler
It could have been on a Chevy. I have seen and repaired a few that looked like the back of this one with the front grills interchangeable. The horn looks correct but the center emblem may not be right.
Gunsmoke
That "pancake" horn was used on several applications, including some motorcycles. In each case, the chrome grill was slightly different as was the mounting bracket. I have a correct one on my 1931 Chevrolet (grill not same as this posting), and it uses an L shaped bracket fixed in place by headlight bolt and I also have a chrome grill from a different horn that also fits. The M or W and unusual bracket should suggest an application.
mlavin73
Any suggestions on how I should list it for sale on Ebay when it doesn't fit a specific car? Maybe just "Vintage horn from the 1930's" Thoughts on value too? Thank you!
Hans1
If you check it to see if it works, could be worth more that way.ship. Many list things as un tested, so you could be ahead of that type of salesmanship.
Gunsmoke
Not worth much, typically sell in $25 range if usable.
roysboystoys
Take it apart and clean the grille part on a wire wheel. Paint the horn in semi gloss, if it works you might get $
