Seller's Description:

1961 Oldsmobile Starfire Convertible

  • Driven 72,000 miles
  • Automatic transmission
  • Exterior color: White · Interior color: Blue

Selling for a friend. Vehicle is a white convertible, has a 394 engine with an automatic transmission. New transmission was installed when he first got the car along with a few other things. It ran and drove when he parked it in his shop a while back. Haven’t tried to start it yet, but it should fire up with a charged battery. In his ownership it’s always been stored inside a heated shop. Vehicle is in mostly original shape/condition. He has the title.

Looks like it was repainted as the hood bumpers are white.

Why not clean the little tree debris off the paint?  Literally would brush right off.  Makes it look like the paint has issues at first glance but once you look close you realize it looks like pine needles little pieces of bark and such as confirmed by the fact it's on the top as well.

I like 61 Olds's, don't care for white cars though.

Yeah, that blue is far too bright.

Must've had spray cans on sale at Walmart that day.

They painted over all the chrome ribs on the dash, and the steering wheel crest is wrong, too.

Lots of other little nits to pick on this car- The valance panels at the bottom of the rear bumper should be chrome on the Starfire, & not body color as they were on the rest of the full-sized '61s.

Trunk lid letters spelling out "OLDSMOBILE" are missing.  These were used only on the 98 & Starfire models and are difficult to find today.  The trunk lid and rear bumper on this Starfire likely came off of an 88 parts car.

The voltage regulator on the firewall is missing, which suggests some alterations to the charging system & harness.

Curious to know the selling price- these have gotten much more affordable in past few years...
