JRA
Hello Guys, I am trying to identify this lamp. Maybe it is railroad lantern. It has 2 pairs of round lenses (red and blue), it was not electric, probably kerosene. The base has a retangular hole to install in some support. How old is this lamp probably? Thanks, JRA

pkhammer
Definitely a railroad switch lamp. The square hole in the base fit over a square shaft at the switch. It signaled which direction the switch was in. A lamp like this would've been used during the steam era of railroading up until the 1950's.
