Derekw66 Posted February 5, 2021 Posted February 5, 2021 Hi guys, anyone know if the small dampers in the engine bay are available anywhere? I’m replacing my motor mounts and saw these little guys. Took one out and it seems dead. No resistance up or down and very dry sounding internals. I have a 91 V6 4 speed and can’t seem to even get the name of these little things right. Nothing showing in any of my searches regardless of the verbiage I use. Any help is appreciated.
mensanguy Posted February 5, 2021 Posted February 5, 2021 Are you referring to the hood lift struts/supports? Ebay has them for 20.00 pair....

I looked for that dude in my parts book, but found no indication of a part number for the damper mounted to the engine mount on the passenger side. It does however, show in the picture. Personally, I'm sure the one on my TC is 'dead' too, but it does not affect the vehicle operation. Just install new mounts and you should be OK. Derekw66 Posted February 5, 2021 Author Posted February 5, 2021 Thanks Hemi Dude, if someone would know, that would be you. Makes you wonder why they even bothered.
