Thinking of buying a 1962 Skylark

Well!  On June 14, 2021 (Monday) I made a deal on my new (to me) 62 Skylark Convertible,  Drove from St. Louis, MO to Richmond, KY on Tuesday, rented a uHaul car carrier, picked up the car on Wednesday and drove back to St. Louis.  I think I got a good one, sure looks beautiful, and seems to drive good.  The front end may be a bit loose, so I will look into rebuilding the suspension.  I will change the fluids as soon as I get a clutch in another car and can use my lift.

Both me and my Bride are happy to be re-united with a 62 Buick after being without one for 54 years.  Our first one was totaled 5 years after we purchased it new.

Jim

Beautiful Buick! I love those cars, and a black convertible, to boot! Does it have the 215 v8? I became intrigued by those when I bought an shop manual for my '63 Olds 88. The manual had all info for both the the large Olds and small, which had the aluminum 215.  Don't know if Olds and Buick had the exact same 215, but they were related. Try not to stare too long and hard at it in the driveway...you might might wear the looks out!😄 (No way!) Congrats.

James, I have the manuals coming, hopefully they will be delivered this week.  It has the V-8, I believe to be the 215/190 engine.

I did a bit of polishing Friday, now I have to have eye surgery again to compensate for the bright glare.
