  1. Are fusible links color coded? A Brown fusible link is used to protect an 18ga wire. A Green fusible link is used to protect a 16ga wire. A Red fusible link is used to protect a 14ga wire. A Black fusible link is used to protect a 12ga wire.Jun 15, 2020
  2. A guy by the name of Eddie Abroad has it for sale in the Reatta Facebook group. I asked for the vin and he gave me 1g4ec33L2mb900537 I did a google search and landed here. When I asked him if this was the car, he went silent.
  3. It appears to be for sale again. Is this a car that should be considered or avoided? I want to add a 91 convertible to park next to my 91 Gunmetal Grey hardtop. Jim
  4. I know this thread is almost 11 years old, but I am wondering if anyone has the production number for a 1991 Gun Metal Gray with Slate interior?
  5. Want to buy a transmission mount for my 1962 Skylark. I plan to have it rebuilt, just need the core.
  6. Thank you all, I will contact OPG Monday. I did find a Speedometer and Clock guy in Bonne Terre MO that will look at both the Speedo and Clock. It's Bills Speedometer Svc in Bonne Terre MO, he use to be in O'Fallon MO. Have any of you had dealings with him? Jim
  7. Jolly-John that is an option I was considering, but don't know of a shop that will do the change over. Any ideas of who is still doing the swap from gears to Quartz? Jim
  8. Lance, this is what I am looking for.
  9. I am looking to buy a clock for my 62 Skylark. Does anyone have one they want to part with, or know of a potential source of one. I just got mine back from the clock shop and was told there was nothing he could do with it. It had plastic gears in in, and someone had been inside it. It runs but slooowly, looses a couple of hour in a few hours. Thanks, Jim
  10. Have you tried Albers in Zionsville Indiana?
  11. A couple of weeks ago I got in touch with Craig at Mobile Parts. I told him that I wanted to rebuild the suspension on my 62 Skylark. I now have EVERY thing I need, bushings, ball joints, bearings, shocks, springs, every thing but the time and labor to do the job. If you need impossible hard to find hens teeth, call Craig, he is the go to person. I am very pleased with my dealing with him. His number is 516 - 485 - 1935. Jim
  12. Are the Valve, Heater Water Temperature Control Valves for the V-8 and V-6 interchangeable? Part numbers are V8 - 3151404; and V6 - 3154091 Thanks Jim
  13. Thanks JP, but as I mentioned in the previous post, when I asked questions via email, he no longer responded to me. Any way I purchased a 66 Thunderbird, so won't be looking for another Buick for a couple of months. Jim
  14. He responded to me once then when I asked a for his phone number and email address, he never responded back. I have moved on and no longer have good feelings about the car. Thanks for your comments. Jim
  15. Were all the Rivera's in 1973 Boat-Tails?
  16. I offered him to trade my 89 RR Spur, he said maybe, have not heard back from him. Name on email is, Halis S.B, not in Buick or AACA directory. Wonder if it is a scam, especially since the AACA award was in 2013, 9 years ago, and the pictures look to be a bit old also. Jim
  17. Thank you all. From the comments, I get the feeling it does not matter if a car is rescued from the "Crusher". Just be careful doing the inspection to avoid unpleasant surprises. Jim
  18. What is the general feelings of a car that has been restored from the scrap yard? Are there things to be wary of? How is the resale of a restored scrapped car? Thanks Jim
  19. I did a comparison using photos from the web. 49 to 54, from left to right. It helps me see the differences. The 53 Roadmaster is 0.2" longer than my 89 Silver Spur.
  20. I really appreciate all of your comments, I am in the research and learning process from all of you. I'm leaning towards the 53, I like the round body shape more the the beginning of the boxes. What are the advantages/disadvantages of the straight 8 vs the V8? I like the idea of drive a Special then a Roadmaster, but other than at a meet, I think that would be a bit difficult. For the last ten years I was playing with the RR and Bentleys, went from 9 of them down to 2. Have two pre WWII Cadillacs and one 62 Buick. I am enjoying the simpler way of doing things and the ease of working on the US cars, although some of the US parts are more difficult to get than the English ones. US parts are much less expensive though. Jim
