Cadillac Nut
I have this box of Trippe light parts, it was labeled Packard, can anyone identify these things? Are they Packard specific? There was a "junior" and "senior" Trippe light if my memory is correct? Thanks
jrbartlett
To me, these look like the mountings for the Junior-series Tripp lights. A set of these lights was on one of my cars when I bought it. I left them on because they really help with night driving.
Cadillac Nut
Thanks. What years were these used on?
jrbartlett
My guess is primarily the 1930s, peaking mid-decade. The need for them declined with the advent of sealed-beam headlights, plus the introduction of more streamlined front-end design that made them look anachronistic later in the decade.
Walt G
Seems to look like what you are showing in the photo are all reproduction parts as well.

Cadillac Nut
They are splined yes. I think there are 2 originals and 1 repro. Edited February 9, 2021 by Cadillac Nut (see edit history)
