Stubern 1
I need help to determine if this chasis is of any value other than scrap. I do not know the year or model of this chasis although I believe it is around 1928. Note that the frame was cut at the back just ahead of the differential. The remaining frame is about 129 incehes long. There are two aluminum bearing covers that I will likely rescue, but the rest is destined for the scrap yard within the next two weeks unless I find out otherwise. I hate to scrap something that might be of value to others.
Hubert_25-25
A serial number starting with 229 would be a 1929 Buick. The frame and rear axle would be of little value, but I would think the wheels have value. Hubs and rims are hard to find. The wheel base length would indicate the model. Morgan Wright
Somebody with a 1929 could use it as a parts car.
Bill - 29 Buick
Stubern 1: It was originally a 1929 Buick model 29-44 - a 2 door Roadster with a rumble seat (serial number 2293995 falls in the 6th [2293573 - 2294019] of 8 serial number blocks for this model). I'd be happy to spread the word among 29 Buick owners in the area - where is the frame, etc. ? Or happy to put an ad for it (no cost) in my next 1929 Silver Anniversary Buick Newsletter (closes Jan. 20 / 21). Stubern 1
Bill, you are a star! The frame is in SE Minnesota just about 30 miles South of Rochester. I would be most appreciative for any help you can give me. Perhaps you can send an email so we can talk off line. SJBL2@msn.com
