padgett
It was common in formula-V days (invented zero rear roll stiffness for one) to run the belt at a constant slip. More HP.

capngrog
Well, if you don't need to change a fan belt, then you have time to have a belt. Works for me every time. Cheers, Grog
Guest
I have a 1974 MCI bus that you can safely change the fan (blower) belt without tools with the engine running. The upper pulley is tensioned with an air cylinder. when you shut off the air with the handy valve, the pulley lowers and slacks off the belt. You can then lift it off and instal a new one. Not quite 5 seconds but definitely in less than a minute. 👨🔧👍
