B Jake Moran
Nice colors, nice driver class $8,000 vehicle. Why buy a Ford or Chevy, the latter with a stovebolt 6, when you can get this one. Just overpriced a bit. But it seems most sellers are swinging for the fences and if you don't want it, no problem, they keep it. These offerings don't seem to be from sellers eager to sell, but looking to increase margins.
John_S_in_Penna
It looks like a good car, but somehow, the upholstery doesn't look quite right to me. And it appears to be (re)done in vinyl. Do any forum members have knowledge about correct interiors?
JamesR
Yes, Virginia, there actually were attractive, powerful and cool Mopars in the early 1950's!
The 55er
I agree with John S, the upholstery isn't right although it does somewhat resemble the original overall pattern. Hardtops & convertibles had red leather with black cloth pleats and the cloth had silver flecks or threads in it. Also the 1954 Desoto hemi engine size is 276, not 292 as the seller states (assuming the car retains the original engine), 1955 Desoto hemi displacement was 291. It seems some of these sellers/flippers should spend a few minutes researching the actual facts about the $13K vehicle they're selling instead of throwing random numbers into their ads. It would give them a lot more credibility.
