Marty Roth
Just an "educated" guess, but those "paint Bubbles" most likely have rust behind them in the lower body panels- a possibly decent lower-cost entry into the hobby, especially for a convertible with a decent amount of club support, and a really cute car, with some considering it a "Chick" car, much like the one my wife and another gal rode in to high school back in the 1960s Edited September 4, 2020 by Marty Roth (see edit history)
suchan
Seriously cute little car. Besides the rust, the rear quarters on both sides look weird, especially the flares over the rear wheels. Bring a magnet.
BadAppleRides
Thank you for your comments. I can confirm that there is no bondo on the car, and there is no evidence of any bodywork either. There is also no rust through. The magnet was applied to those areas and it sticks with no issues. The rear quarters are original to the car. Thank you!
8E45E
Like the 1970-'71 B-body Mopars, there are more painted Hi-Impact colors that were made. Same goes with Flamingo 1961 Lark Convertibles and Hawks. I'd like to see the Production Order for this car, as it appears to have been rather hastily and thinly sprayed under the hood, with paint overspray on the wiring, grommets, cowl intake filter, and clamps. Where the paint is peeling off the firewall, it appears to have been Desert Tan underneath. Craig
